British singer and pop icon David Bowie passed away at the age of 69. David Bowie is well-known for his hit song like ‘Space-oddity’, “Starman’, ‘Fame’ and for his androgynous appearance and iconic image.
The shocking news was posted on Bowie’s official social media account today. This was the official statement posted on both Facebook and Twitter, hours after the singer died:
“January 10 2016 – David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”
The news was then later on confirmed by Bowie’s son Duncan Jones in his Twitter post when he posted this photo along with the caption:
“Very sorry and sad to say it’s true. I’ll be offline for a while. Love to all.”
