Shocking reports from famine and flood-hit North Korea said that its starving people are killing family members and loved ones for meals.
Incidents of cannibalism in North Korea have been reported by the Asia Press.
Details include of a man in the village of South Hwanghae who murdered his own two children and attempted to eat them, however his wife reported him to the authorities.
“While his wife was away on business he killed his eldest daughter and, because his son saw what he had done, he killed his son as well. When the wife came home, he offered her food, saying: ‘We have meat,’” one “citizen journalist” in North Korea told foreign media.
The father was then executed by a firing squad.
Another gory information of cannibalism was that of a man who dug up his grandchild’s grave and devour his rotting remains.
While another man who went mad out of hunger in one village in Chongdan county killed and boiled his own child, then ate his flesh. The man was also arrested.
Other testimonies of cannibalism from credible sources convinced foreign media and leaders to conclude that more than 10,000 people have died in North and South Hwanghae, farming provinces in south of North Korea’s capital Pyongyang, as the country continues to refuse aid from outside countries.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has not commented or denied the reports on death to show his defiant stance against “foreign meddlers.”
South Korea, Japan, USA and the United Nations have recently imposed sanctions to North Korea due to its continued ballistic missile testing and nuclear weapon program.
North Korea, a communist state, is known as the most secluded country in the world.
