Manila, Philippines – As of 4 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, a low pressure area has formed at 1,000 km east of Virac, Catanduanes while an inter-tropical convergence zone is still affecting the Visayas and Mindanao, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The LPA may develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 to 48 hours and will be named Santi, the 19th cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility if it does.

Meanwhile, in Metro Manila, temperatures will range from 23 to 32 degrees Celsius. The area will experience partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or in the evening.

In the Visayas, wet weather will prevail over Borongan, Tacloban, Cebu, Iloilo, Tagbilaran, and Dumaguete.

In Mindanao, light to moderate rains may prevail over Butuan and Cotabato with thunderstorms persisting over in Zamboanga, Davao, General Santos, and Cagayan de Oro.
