MANILA, Philippines – Northern Luzon experienced cloudy skies and light rains on Friday due to the Amihan or northwest monsoon according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA forecaster Meno Mendoza said that rain may fall over parts of Luzon and Mindanao and warned fishermen and passengers of small sea craft of big waves at the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon and eastern seaboard of Luzon.

“Temperatures are starting to go down. Temperatures reached 19 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao, and 14 degrees Celsius in Baguio”, Mendoza said in a radio interview.

Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains while Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
