MANILA, Philippines – Finally, Google opened its office in the Philippines as it launched its new unit in Makati.
According to Julian Persaud, the managing director of Google in Southeast Asia, Philippines is a key market with its growing online population.
“The Philippines is a key country in Southeast Asia in terms of its digital economy and tech-savvy population,” Persaud said on Wednesday.
“This new office will allow us to better engage with our local users, partners and advertisers. Over 33 million Filipinos access the Internet regularly and is set to grow exponentially,” Persaud added.
Moreover, the tech giant starts hiring qualified people for its office in the Philippines.
According to Narciso Reyes, the country manager for the Philippines, Google is excited to start and deepen their investment in the country with the opening of their office in Manila.
“Our local team will be committed to providing better services to our Filipino users and to helping businesses – large and small – grow locally and globally, contributing to the growth of the Philippine economy,” Reyes said.
Reyes also noted that they envision Google as part of everyday lives of Filipinos and will become a great partner of local communities, culture and business.
