Contrary to reports currently circulating online, Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV did sign the affidavit on his allegations towards Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s BPI account that allegedly contains an undeclared sum of P211 million.
Earlier today at the BPI Julia Vargas branch in OrtigasCenter, Pasig, Trillanes, who is running for vice president, met with Att. Sal Panelo, Duterte’s legal counsel, to settle the matter.
The brief meeting was concluded before lunchtime, and upon exiting the bank Trillanes declined to grant interviews and said that he is going to make an announcement on the findings of the meeting later today in a press conference.
Atty. Panelo was left inside the building and has made no comment yet whatsoever about the meeting. During the previous days, Panelo has stressed that there is no need to show the entire history of Duterte’s bank accounts; the Davao City mayor first denied an account in the said bank but later confirmed that he had a joint account with daughter Sara.
In the signed affidavit, Trillanes mentioned a Mr. Joseph de Mesa, a former Duterte loyalist who later provided the senator with copies of the mayor’s bank accounts.
The question is now: WHO IS JOSEPH DE MESA AND WHERE IS HE NOW?
