The Department of Foreign Affairs informed that employers’ applications for the regularization of their undocumented workers in Italy will be accepted from September 15 to October 15, this year.

In a press release, DFA said the move is in connection to Italy’s upcoming Sanatoria for 2012 or Amnesty and Regularization of Undocumented Migrant Workers.

This amnesty and regularization program is based in Italy’s Legislative Decree No. 109/2012.

The DFA added that the implementing rules for the Sanatoria are expected to come out by the end of the month.

Earlier the DFA announced the embassy “hosted 70 Filipino community leaders and members and invited resource persons and experts in immigration law, lawyers Valentina Chianello, Andrea De Rossi, and Paolo Rinaldi, and Annaliza Bueno to explain Italy’s Legislative Decree No. 109/2012, which came into effect on August 9, 2012.”

The embassy emphasized the importance of being forthright in declaring one’s status, also reminding Filipinos to ask for advice and assistance only from proper authorities.
