The Philippine Army and the Australian Army are planning to conduct two joint military exercises as part of their current defense cooperation program, namely Exercise “Dusk Caracha” and Exercise “Dawn Caracha.”


The Exercise “Dusk Caracha” is a combined training activity of the Special Operations Commands (SOCOM) of the Philippines and Australia, and is scheduled to be conducted on 15-26 September in Perth, Australia. The exercise intends to strengthen counter-terrorist skills of the Philippine Army’s Light Reaction Regiment through close-quarter battle training, sniper skills, development training, and unit collective training.

Twenty-five (25) personnel from the Light Reaction Regiment will be joining the said exercise on the said dates.

Meanwhile, the Exercise “Dawn Caracha” will be between the Special Air Service Regiment and SOCOM. This activity will be held in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija, on 19-30 October 2015.
