TACLOBAN CITY–Pilgrim Image of St. Pedro Calungsod is set to visit Region 8, giving opportunity to Catholic faithful and devotees here to venerate the newly canonized 17th century teen Filipino saint.

The region is home to about 4 million Roman Catholics.

Fr. Amadeo Alvero, media liaison officer of the Palo Archdiocese, disclosed the Pilgrim Image of St. Pedro Calungsod will arrive in the Archdiocese of Palo by around 3PM on November 14 after its visit in Catbalogan city in Samar.

After a Mass and veneration, the image will be transferred to Santa Fe/Santo Niño, Abuyog, Leyte for an overnight vigil.

It will be brought there because the titular name of the Parish is St. Pedro Calungsod Parish, Fr. Alvero told Manila Channel.

By morning of November 15, St. Calungsod will be travelled to Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Ormoc city.
