Tacloban City—Some 100 Million in damages to City infrastructures was reported by the City Engineers office after typhoon Ofel.  In a report released by the CEO to the CDRRMC chaired by Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez it disclosed that a number of government buildings, roads, drainage facilities and bridges incurred damages during the October 24-typhoon.

Per CEO reports, damage to Palanog and Diit-Scandinavian Bridges amounted to 25,000,000.00, while the Old Kawayan shore protection—5,000,000.00.

Five roads: V&G, Old Kawayan, G.A. Palanog, Diit Road, and the Road Leading to Bliss-Nula-Tula incurred damage of 30,000,000.00 pesos.  Damaged to drainage facilities and other buildings totaled 40,000,000.00 pesos.

Government buildings damaged by the typhoon were San Jose Health Center, City Hospital, Slaughter House and several lamp posts.

Meantime, after incessant rains brought by the typhoon flood waters overwhelmed 12 City Barangays. Heavily flooded were Barangays Tigbao, Basper, Palanog, Salvacion, Apitong, Utap, Abucay, Naga-naga, Kassel Homes, Nulatula and PHHC Housing.

Earlier, the city council passed a legislation declaring the entire City under a State of Calamity.
