DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Friday, Malaysian security forces clashed with members of the Sulu sultanate’s “royal army” as they moved in to compulsorily heave the “invaders” off Lahad Datu, according to a Sabah-based radio station said.

According to the short wave broadcast monitored here, its reporter was stationed near Felda 17, the seaside village where Agbimuddin Kiram and his armed followers of about 180 had been encamped since February 12.

The reporter was quoted by the station saying that he hears heavy firing shortly after 10:00 AM.

Some villagers claimed seeing bodies being moved out but Sabah radio said efforts to get comments from Malaysian authorities failed as they remain tight-lipped on the incident.
