MANILA, Philippines- At least 31 people were killed while another 10 were reported injured after a fire allegedly caused by welding equipment sparks gutted a slipper factory in Barangay Ugong, Valenzuela City Wednesday.
Fire authorities said the blaze started at 10 a.m. and was only put out at around 7 p.m.
Initial reports indicated that the fire started from the factory’s entrance.
The fire rapidly spread and trapped around 65 workers inside the burning building.
Operations are still underway to determine the exact number of people who died and the cause of the fire. PNA
