TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines- “This art exhibit serves as an eye opener and door to young artists to showcase their talents in the colorful world of art,” guest artist and beginner John Patrick Labastida said in an exclusive interview with Manila Channel during the opening of Huring Art Exhibit.

Huring which means “whisper” is the fourth art exhibit of the Kulahig Tacloban which aims to invite, develop, discover and serve as a vehicle to new and young artists specifically in Eastern Visayas.

According to Kulahig member and artist Dante Enage, they started exhibiting on 2006 which was entitled “Panhimo ‘ta” wherein they featured various forms of paintings including mixed media arts and invited young artists from different parts of the region. After their first exhibit, it was followed by two more exhibits with similar goals.

Moreover, series of screening will be done to those who are interested to join and be part of the the event.

Huring Art Exhibit will be a month long activity at the Café Lucia, Rotary Building where different displayed artworks can be bought in a reasonable amount. (Mary Grace M. Gomez, ABCom Intern-Leyte Normal University)
