If you haven’t found yet a motivation to be a good taxpayer, watch this 2-minute viral video in YouTube.

The music video entitled “Angat Pa, Pinas!” will persuade you to pay your taxes right and make a great contribution to our almost poverty-driven country.

“Angat Pa, Pinas!” is the new campaign launched by the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR) and Department of Finance. They showed where taxes go and where they are intended to be.

The video was encouraging and inspiring enough that for a brief moment you forget about the “Napoles” and “pork barrel” scandals that angered many Filipino citizens.

But at the end, reality would strike and you would remember how corrupt government officials claim all the money they don’t have any business with. This is evident as netizens hit the comment button in the video sharing site YouTube:

Ang sakit!” a netizen said.

While corruption is undeniably rampant in the Philippines, “Angat Pa, Pinas!” somehow still gives us hope that a better and corrupt-free future is still possible. Besides, I can’t help but agree on this statement from one concerned netizen: “Pay our taxes correctly and regularly, as it is our duty as a Filipino citizen, and as for the cynics that says that taxes will only be wasted due to corruption, make sure during the next election, we should be smart in choosing our leaders. Our next chance is coming soon…”
