When tropical storm Etau hit Japan recently, photos of reverberation appeared on the internet, one of which showing a flooded subway-but with water as clean as that in a swimming pool.
The Chinese social media platform Weibo uploaded the photo, which is assumed to be taken in a subway at Hamamatsu City, located at the eastern part of Japan.
The said photo likewise sparked comparisons between Japan and the Philippines, since both countries are prone to flooding. One netizen from the Philippines even commented: “How we envy you, Japan! Here in the Philippines, you can die from wading in flood water. Too much microorganisms.”
However, while some netizens appreciated the clear waters in the photo, others meanwhile questioned the authenticity of the said pictures, as they might have been edited in order to go viral.
