On Tuesday, at least eight children were injured including two, who are in critical condition after a tree fell in Pasadena, California, near the Kidspace Children’s Museum.
The six children suffered minor injuries and were treated on the scene, KTLA reports, citing Lisa Derderian with the Pasadena Fire Department.
Derderian said the approximately 70-foot tree came crashing down around 4:50 p.m. in a grassy area outside the museum, where a group of children regularly attend summer day camp.
At the time of the incident, 33 kids were participating in the camp, according to ABC7. It wasn’t immediately known how many of the injured campers were.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
“Thank you to the City of Pasadena first responders for their quick action and support, along with our Kidspace community and parents who helped immediately following the incident,” the Kidspace Children’s Museum said in a statement.
