Palo, Leyte – This town is abuzz with activities as it prepares for the 68th Anniversary of the Leyte Gulf Landings on October 20, 2012. On-going at the Government Center Quadrangle in Candahug is the Agri-Aqua, Trade and Industry and Science and Technology Fair that opened, October 15.

Leyte Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Director Desiderio  Belas Jr. said the Fair was organized as one of the highlights of the Leyte Gulf Landings  anniversary and the sixth Leyte Province Business Month.   The DTI Director said it will run from October 15 to 20, and is open

from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Municipal Government of Palo, Department of Trade and Industry, the Leyte chamber of Commerce and Industry the Leyte Provincial Agriculture, and the Department of Science and Technology are sponsors of the event that will feature some 48 trade and industry exhibitors.  There will be exhibits on gifts, decors, handicrafts and processed food.

The organizers this year decided to hold the event at the Government Center Quadrangle to be accessible to most tourists and locals who will visit the landing memorial.  It was formerly held at the RTR Plaza.  Kick –off of other Leyte Landing activities was held on October 14.
