A soldier went viral after photo was posted, showing him buying food and letting two street children eat in a Jollibee branch at Gaisano Capital Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
His name is Airman Mario Teanila Jr. PAF. The photo went viral, when it was featured on the official page of Lapu-Lapu City.
Many of the netizens were inspired and were happy of what Teanila did, but the photo didn’t just capture everyone’s heart, it also served as an eye opener to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
One of the comment stated that the fact that there is a street children roaming in Gaisano Capital which is just meters away from City Hall. It makes the people wonder what DSWD are doing, and how much more street children in other places. They salute the Teanila who give foods for street children. But they will salute more to those who can report this photo to the DSWD, to share to them the existence of these street children.
“Maybe the problem is not only the DSWD, but maybe also to the people around for not reporting the problem. People, if you are concern of these street children, report to DSWD, so that they will Act” stated in one of the comments.
Reporting is not the end of the job. Follow up call if action has been done. Feeding is just one time help, let’s save their future by reporting to the said office.
The post showed a very humanitarian act, and now there are many people believing, that there are still good people in the planet.
The said Airmen is a native of Batangas and currently assigned in 560th Air Base Wing of Mactan Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City.
