With only three months to go before the national elections, Senator Grace Poe returns to the top spot among the presidential candidates, according to the latest Pulse Asia Survey released on Saturday, 6 Feb.
Based on the results of Pulse Asia’s “Pulso ng Bayan” Pre-Electoral Survey done among 1,800 registered voters during the period of 24-28 January, Poe has gone ahead of her rivals with 30% voter nod.
Three candidates shared the second place, Vice President Jejormar Binay at 23%, while LP standard-bearer Mar Roxas and Davao City Mayor Rody Duterte both at 20%.
“Electoral support for Senator Poe becomes more pronounced, while that for Vice-President Binay eases during the period of December 2015 to January 206,” said Pulse Asia president Ronald Holmes in a statement.
In terms of geographic clout, Poe and Binay are tied at the National Capital Region; the former being the top choice in Luzon. Roxas on the other hand is leading in the Visayas region, while Duterte still holds water in Mindanao.
As for the vice-presidential candidates, Senator Chiz Escudero is still in the lead with 33% voter preference, followed by Senator Bongbong Marcos, Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo, and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
