Manila, Philippines – Encouraging every Filipino citizen to be a light and a beacon of hope this Holiday season of Christ in spite of the different calamities and catastrophes that hit the beloved country of Philippines, President Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III gave his traditional Christmas greetings through a video message in light of the Holiday celebration.
According to his Excellency, Christmas this year 2013 should be always an echoing reminder to the Filipinos on how the great God so loved the world.
“This Christmas, let us keep alive the flame of Christ’s love. Let us serve as a source of hope for our fellow Filipinos,” said the President in his speech reminding every citizen of the Philippines.
Also, he even said in his message that from his visits to the areas which are hit by the disasters like Bohol and Tacloban, he saw how it is really proven that Filipinos are known for their resiliency and ability to smile in midst of trials and problems, that such tragedy to their lives did not even chip off away the enduring spirit from the survivors.
Communicating each lesson as given by God, the President boldly said in the video: “This is one of the most important lessons from God: Do your best, God will do the rest.”
Moreover, as a completing ingredient in his special Christmas message to Filipinos, the President also mentioned the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) saying that they could be reunited with their relatives and loved ones across the globe no matter how far are they from each other.
Likewise, he also recognized how hard and depressing it is for many workers abroad who were to spend their Christmases and have their Noche Buenas without their families to celebrate the birth of Christ with them. Consequently the President reminded them of these passages: “We celebrate Christmas as one people, regardless of where we are and even during tragedies.”
