Eat Bulaga host Paolo Ballesteros, known for his viral makeup transformations, is taking his talents to the big screen as he stars in an indie film about a transgender woman.
Titled “Die Beautiful,” the comedy-drama tells the story of a Filipino transgender woman (Ballesteros) with the dying wish to be buried looking like Lady Gaga. Through a series of unfortunate events, his body is taken by a Chinese-Filipino family who dresses him up as a man, much to the frustration of his gay friends, who steal back the body to honor his dying request.
The indie film, selected for funding assistance by the Hong Kong Asian Film Financing Forum, is directed by Jun Robles Lana and co-produced by APT Entertainment. Also joining the cast is actress Diana Zubiri.
Ballesteros has made waves in social media by impersonating famous celebrities through his makeup transformations, posting the metamorphoses on Instagram. His latest looks include Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother in the upcoming Cinderella, and Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore.
