Nag sorry ang rebeldeng grupo na New People’s Army kay Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte matapos sa nangyaring ambush noong March 8 that resulted in the injuring of two Davao City policemen and one civilian in Barangay Baganihan.
Duterte expressed disappointment over the incident—the first in many years—noting the NPA had just broken a ‘gentlemen’s agreement.’
“We have an agreement, that is why the police are safe in going (in) and out of the hinterlands,” Duterte said. The mayor immediately called a certain Kumander Bob and put their conversation on speaker for the benefit of police and army representatives, after which the NPA official apologized for the incident, recognizing their mistake.
Dagdag ni Kumander Bob, nakatulog ang kanilang sundalo at aksidenteng nabitawan ang detonator ng landmine, which hit a police patrol car.
Duterte accepted the NPA official’s apology, saying “It is their internal discipline – At least it was an admirable thing that they accepted responsibility. That itself is fine with me.”
The NPA group was responsible in two recent incidents involving the burning of trucks and buses in Bukidnon. There are also reports of the group planting IEDs along Marilog Highway.
Samantala, binisita ni Duterte ang mga nasugatang pulis, offering to shoulder their medical and hospital expenses.
