Muhammad Ali dubbed as “The Greatest” picked Manny Pacquiao over Floyd Mayweather in the fight of the century, according to Ali’s daughter, Rasheda.
“My dad is Team Pacquiao all the way!” Rasheda, who is reportedly very close to her father, told TMZ Sports.
“My dad really likes Manny. He’s a huge fan of his,” Rasheda added. “He knows Manny’s a great fighter. But it’s more about what he does outside the ring. He’s such a charitable person.”
She however said that her father respects Mayweather as a fighter but there is no comparison between them as they are two different people.
Pacquiao, on the other hand, was humbled and elated with the support from arguably one of the legendary boxers in the world.
“Hearing that he picks me over his compatriot is truly humbling and inspiring. I’ll do my best to live up to his expectation and that of the fans worldwide,” Pacquiao said via Phil Boxing.
Apparently, Pacquiao and Muhammad Ali have been friends for years. The Filipino icon even attended Ali’s 70th birthday party in 2012.
Muhammad Ali is an American legendary boxer, generally considered among the greatest heavyweights in the sport’s history.
