Idiniin ng paborito nating government agency na BIR, na ang 13th month pay niyo lang, kasama ang ibang bonus, ang kasama sa mga exemption ng bagong tax cap na isinabatas ni Benigno Aquino III nitong nakaraang February.
The BIR recently released Revenue Regulation 3-2015, making official the provisions outlined in Republic Act No. 10653, in particular, ang tax exemption noong P30,000, na ngayon ay nasa P82,000 na.
According to the BIR, the tax exemption cap applies only to 13th month pay and other bonuses added since January 1, 2015. Ayon sa dokumento, “The amount of P82,000 ($1,846.39) shall only apply to the 13th month pay and other benefits prescribed under the provisions of Section 2.78.1 (B) (11) of RR No. 2-98 as amended, and shall in no case apply to other compensation received by an employee under an employer-employee relationship, such as basic salary and other allowances.”
Ayon Senator Juan Edgardo Angara, ang co-author at sponsor ng bagong panukala, the signing of the new tax emption law is a tax relief long overdue for the average Filipino.
It’s worth noting that BIR secretary has expressed displeasure over the recent tax exemption, saying that the BIR must now be forced to revise its revenue goals in expectation of the collection shortfall.
