With the 8th NICP ICT Summit just around the corner, Region 8 is ready to accelerate development, grow capacities, strengthen foundations, expand horizons, explore potentials, innovate technologies and connect communities.
This year’s ICT Summit will be hosted by the Regional Information and Communications Technology Committee – Eastern Visayas Federation for Information Technology (RICTC-EVFIT) on November 10-11, 2016 in Leyte Academic Center, Palo, Leyte and Tacloban City with the 5th eGov Awards 2016 as the highlight on the second day.
With the theme “Acceler8 Region 8 thru the Digital Economy”, the National ICT Confederation of the Philippine collaborated with champions and prime movers of the Information and Communications Technology from public and private sectors “to share industry trends and development, understand the challenges, identify and collaborate on ways forward to promote ICT industry development, generate new investments and create new jobs for the cities outside of Metro Manila and the countryside.”
Major topics will include Philippine IT-BPM Roadmap 2022, Resiliency through Innovation, eGovernance for Improving Business Environment, Building a Startup Ecosystem in the Countryside, Impact Sourcing and the NICP 1 Million Jobs Target for the Countryside.
Moreover, ICT activities will include plenary and break-out sessions/ lightning talks, eGov Awards, Youth Forum or Students’ Symposium, HackTheClimate hackathon to startups pitching competition, ICT exhibit, business matching, and job fair.
