Dreams set no limitations. This is true for 2015 Binibining Pilipinas hopeful Janicel Lubina.

Lubina, is a native of Palawan province who worked as a housemaid for her family’s survival. But despite of her simple past, she is proud of her humble beginning and is offering her beauty tilt journey to her supporters in Palawan.

“To everyone in Palawan, thank you for your support and prayers. This is for all of us,” Lubina said.

In a press interview, the 19-year-old beauty recalled her past and said that she did not expect her childhood dream to be realized.

“Sobrang hindi ko po ine-expect na nandito ako sa rurok ng pangarap ko. Since sa pagiging isang simpleng babae sa probinsiya na hindi mo iisipin na after a few years, nandito na sa Manila. Actually, when I was in third year, na-mild stroke ang dad ko, naging kasambahay ako.” Lubina said. “Actually ‘yung mom ko, kasambahay din. That’s why I’m proud kung saan ako nanggaling. And I think, maraming na-inspire sa kuwento ko.”

The beauty queen aspirant also revealed that she worked on the rice fields just to save money.

“That’s why sobrang happy ako nun kahit madaling araw na ay naghihiwalay ako, hinihiwalay yung ipa sa binilad, okay lang kasi sobrang gustong-gusto kong makaipon,” she added.

When asked if she experienced discrimination from her fellow candidates, Lubina answered no and she believed that the rest of the girls were inspired by her story.

Lubina will be competing with 33 other Filipinas in the 2015 Binibining Pilipinas. The coronation night is slated on March 15 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Before her journey on the country’s prestigious beauty pageant, Lubina was crowned as Miss Bikini Philippines 2013 and Mutya ng Palawan 2012.
