The House of Representatives is set to take action and investigate the disqualification case of the movie “Honor Thy Father” at last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Laguna Representative Dan Fernandez, one of the supporting actors of the said film, was the one who filed the resolution that seeks to direct the committee on Metro Manila Development to conduct an inquiry on the disqualification case of ‘Honor Thy Father’ from the category of best picture.

Yesterday, key personalities of the recent MMFF, along with some well-known movie stars, faced congressional grilling as the House of Representatives begins the first of a series of public hearings on numerous controversies that surrounded the annual event.

The Congress aims to expose all the anomalies of the said film festival and to uncover the truth behind all the claims and allegations.

The next hearing is scheduled to resume on January 18, 2016 (Monday).
