Presidential candidate Grace Poe is making things sweet to the Negrense population by promising another airport to be put up in San Carlos City if and when she wins the post on May 9.
Poe, together with her running mate Senator Chiz Escudero, was welcomed by a crowd of over 3,000 at San Carlos City in Negros Occidental. In her speech, Poe stressed that she wants to develop the open spaces and tourist sites in the city. “We can do more [developments] here.”
“Mahirap makarating dito, medyo mahirap,” she noted, as San Carlos City is more than 90 kilometers away from Bacolod. “Request sa atin, sana magkaroon ng airport. Sasabihin ng kabila, ayan na naman, nangangako ng airport, hindi mo naiisio if kaya natin ‘yan. Epal lang ‘yan.”
“If we can advertise San Carlos, if people can see how beautiful the locality is and if it is accessible, many would come here to invest,” she added. “Iyan ay ating itutulak.”
After her stint at San Carlos City, Poe and Escudero visited the town of Isabela, where they were met by over 10,000 people at the plaza.
