IMUS, Cavite- Killed gunman Ronald Bae’s wife apologized to the victims’ families.
Ma. Elena Bae hoped that the families of the massacre victims in Cavite are not angry at her and she apologized on behalf of her husband.
“I apologize for what my husband did. Sana hindi sila magalit sa kin,”
Bae gunned down around 20 people in Barangay Tabon, Kawit, Cavite last Friday and eight of them were killed. The victims were identified as Alberto Fernandez, 55; Boyet Toledo; Irene Funelas, 38; Rhea de Vera, (two-month pregnant) 34; Al Drio, 20; Michaella Andrea Caimol, 7; and de Vera’s daughter Jan Monica, 3.
Bae was then killed after a shoot-out with the police.
According to Ma. Elena, her husband was a good person until he began taking drugs. She shared how she noticed him starting to act strangely.
“He would talk to himself. Minsan tumitirik pa ang mata,”
“May mga sinasabi siya: demonyo ako, may mga aninong nakikita, may nakasilip,” she added.
Ma. Elena and her husband had been together for 13 years and have five children. Bae had two other children with his first wife.
