The government through the Civil Service Commission’s Honors and Awards Committee launched the 2013 Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employee.

The annual search is mandated in the 1987 Philippine Constitution, Executive Order Nos. 292 and 508 and as mandated by Executive Order No. 77 and RA No. 6713.

CSC Region 8 director Marilyn Taldo informed that the annual search for the exemplary public service is one of the commission’s advocacies in promoting culture of excellence as well as to recognize the outstanding men and women for their consistent manifestation of ethical behavior in public service.

There were three awards categories at stake for the nominees: the “Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award,” the “Outstanding Public Official and Employee or the Dangal ng Bayan Award” and the “CSC Pagasa Award.”

Director Taldo informed that for 2013, apart from individual nominations for the Presidential Lingkod Bayan and the CSC Pagasa Awards, group or team nominations are also encouraged.

The entire government bureaucracy is encouraged to participate in the HAP by sending nominations. Nomination forms may be secured at the CSC Regional Office 8, at the CSC Provincial offices or at any CSC offices nationwide. The nomination forms may also be downloaded at the CSC website (www.csc.gov.ph).

Nominations to the 2013 Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees must be submitted to any Civil Service Commission Provincial/Field or Regional Office on or before March 29, 2013. Previous year’s nominees who have not been named winners may again submit their nominations, the CSC said.
