MANILA, Philippines-Upon “persistent” recommendation of Health Secretary Enrique Ona, Pres. Benigno Aquino III will take one-day leave from work on Friday, December 27.

Aquino will be back on his official duty on Rizal day, December 30.

“ You know, the President has been going through a lot of work…His concern is largely focused on—apart from the other matters of state— the typhoon ‘Yolanda’ rehabilitation. We’ve had several meetings with respect to that.”

“The President also visited last weekend the calamity-stricken areas and also the man-made calamity in Zamboanga. So I think the President will take a break sometime on 27th… He will take a break from his vacation come Rizal Day,” said Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda on Monday.

However Lacierda has yet to confirm on where Aquino will spend his vacation, the same also on when the president will have a time for a courtesy call  with 2013 Miss International Bea Rose Santiago.

“We will have to confirm with the Private Office. Certainly it’s a pride. Miss International has given us so much honor by winning yet another crown and we will ask the Private Office kung meron nang naka-schedule na courtesy call.”
