TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines (PIA)-At least 300 farmers in Eastern Visayas enrolled in the University on-the-air Program (UOA) of the Department of Agriculture (DA) on Wednesday graduated from their Rice Postharvest and Mechanization Course at the Leyte Park Gymnasium.

DA Regional Director Antonio Gerundio said the farmers enrolled in the program gained more knowledge in farming, particularly the technical aspect just by listening to the radio through farmcasters.

Also gracing the activity was Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech) Director Rex Bingabing. Other invited guests include Leyte Governor Ma. Mimietta S. Bagulaya and Samar Governor Sharee Ann Tan-Delos Santos.
