ALEPPO, Syria-Twenty OFWs from Syria are expected to arrive home tonight.
As the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced last Monday, the first group of Filipinos in Syria to be brought back to the Philippines this year will arrive at Ninoy Aquino International Airport tonight at 10:15 P.M.
These Filipinos were evacuated from Aleppo and went through Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
Since the conflict between the government and the rebel troops in Syria heightened last year, around 3,310 OFWs have been evacuated already. Now, the DFA continues to convince the rest of the Filipinos in the Middle Eastern nation to leave for their security.
Relatives of OFWs who are still in Syria are encouraged by the DFA to cooperate in ensuring the safety of their loved ones by providing the department their contact details and location.
