Universal Pictures finally confirmed that Paul Walker will be in Fast & Furious 7, the latest installment of the car-racing franchise, following his tragic car crash with friend Roger Rodas on November 30.
“Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of FAST & FURIOUS 7, which will be released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 2015,” the studio said in a statement.
“James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series, and Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel return as producers,” it added.
The confirmation from Universal Pictures came after Diesel posted in his official Facebook page the release date of the said film. Along with the post, Diesel also shared the last photo of him and Walker from the set of the movie.
The seventh installment of the franchise was originally set to be released on July 11, 2014. In time of Walker’s sudden death, the production of Fast & Furious 7 was on-going and over 60 percent of the film has already been shot.
The Hollywood Reporter said that director James Wan and screenwriter Chris Morgan were forced to rewrite the script and use some existing footage of Walker to present a proper send-off for the star’s character.
