1La La Land breaks records in winning 7 awards in the 74th Golden Globe Awards last January 8.

The film bagged their nominations and took home these awards:

Best Original Score – Motion Picture, Justin Hurwitz

Best Original Song – Motion Picture, City Of Stars, Justin Hurwitz

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Ryan Gosling

Best Screenplay, Damien Chazelle

Best Director, Damien Chazelle

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Emma Stone

Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy


“This is a film for dreamers and I think that hope and creativity are two of the most important things in the world and that’s what this movie is about.”, Stone said as she accepted her award.

She dedicated the award to her family, friends and to any creative person who struggles to pursue their dream.

“There’s always a place for a movie that celebrates hope, and love, and arts soo I just hoped to that in this movie. So really, that was the goal.”, Chazelle responded to an an interview backstage with Hollywood Form Press Association.

Chazelle also directed Whiplash, a 2014 movie about a jazz drummer. La La Land will show in Philippine theaters in January 11.
