A new sequel of the 2011 animated hit “Rio” is officially coming still with the same cast, Anne Hathaway Jesse Eisenberg and the rest of their co-stars.
“Rio 2” according to Vanessa Morrison, president of 20th Century Fox Animation, there will also be new additions to the franchise, top actors and musical talents.
The animated film is currently in production at Blue Sky Studios.
20th Century Fox’ international rollout begins March 20, 2014 and will be followed by its domestic release on April 11, 2014 (April 10 – Philippines).
The stars we can expect in the sequel “Rio 2” include the names of Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am, 30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan, Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto, George Lopez, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, Jake T. Austin, and Jamie Foxx.
Created based upon the experiences of creator Carlos Saldanha, is still directing the sequel, with John C. Donkin and Bruce Anderson as producers.
As mentioned, there will be newly added attractions to the animated film, and they are no less than Academy Award® nominee Andy Gracia, Grammy® winner Bruno Mars, Emmy®/Tony® winner Kristin Chenoweth, Academy Award®/Emmy®/Tony®/Grammy® winner Rita Moreno, “Hunger Games” actress Amandla Stenberg, “Today” news anchor Natalie Morales, “Looper’s” Pierce Gagnon and singer/actress Rachel Crow.
In the beginning of the new animated film “Rio 2”, we can see Blu (with Eisenberg’s voice), Jewel (with Hathaway’s voice) and their 3 kids living a perfectly normal life in a magical city.
But then, Jewel (Hathaway) came up with the idea that their kids need to learn to live like real birds.
With that idea, Jewel perseveres on embarking on an adventure to the Amazon.
As their family ventured to the wild, Blu became increasingly worried he would lose his family to the call of the wild as he tries to fit in with the new neighbors.
