MANILA, Philippines—Batangas Governor Vilma Santos laughed off Instagram followers of Kris Aquino who criticize her grammar and misspellings on a note she sent along with a box of ensaymada.
On Monday, Aquino posted a photo of the box of ensaymada that the ‘Star for all Seasons’ sent her on Instagram with a note that reads “Dearest Kris, Thank you sooo much for believing in me! I truely appreciate it friend…Life is short…Enjoy it—You are so bless. God is good! Smile. I love you!”
The post drew flak from Aquino’s followers bashing them for two different reasons – the actress-governor for her “grammatical and spelling errors,” and the host-actress for posting the message even if she already possibly noticed the flaws in the syntax.
Furthermore, on Tuesday, the television host posted the subsequent text exchange with Santos on Instagram to address the issue.
“Hi Kris… I am being bashed because of your instagram post. Hahaha. I guess marami pa akong dapat matutunan. I take all of these as constructive criticisms. Tao lang; nagkakamali. Sa mga bashers… Salamat po ..Again, thanks for believing in me. Until next time….”
On behalf of her followers, Aquino apologized in a reply that she also posted on her account.
“I’m sorry Ate Vi. I did not think about the wrong spelling because what mattered to me was your kindness and the thought behind the card,”
Aquino magnified Santos for her “bravery, sense of humor, wisdom and humility.”
“Hindi s’ya pikon kasi nga alam n’ya that her life is good. Her example will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life,” Aquino said.
However, other followers of Aquino defended the two saying that the mistakes were “not a big deal” and it was the nice gesture that mattered.
